What’s in my fridge?

There has been a lot of thinking about food lately. So s few days ago I thought it was about time to do another ‘what’s-in-my-frigde’ shot. Before I took photos of my fridge, I had to clean it. I also had to get rid of some old stuff. So I’m happy with my idea, because I got to tidy up the fridge.

From the top left:

  1. tin box with macrell in tomato sauce, cream cheese, liverpaste, cooking cream, water and a plastic box with saussage.
  2. Margarin, butter, different kinds of cheese (tomato cheese, goat cheese etc), saussage.
  3. cucumber, box with gravy, cauliflower on top, eggs.
  4. empty box, milk (2 x 1,75litre), an orange, apple cider, rice porrige
  5. potatoes, carrots.

From top right:

  1. lots of eggs.
  2. chocolate
  3. ketchup, garlic, wasabi paste, bag with mushrooms

I’ve also taken a few photos other food related photos the last days. A few days ago I made creamy mushrooms as a side dish for my pork. Oh so yummy.

Cooking cream is really good to have in your frigde. It makes food so much better, if you add some cream.

This morning I baked bread. It’s really easy when you  buy a package with pre-mixed flour and just add yeast and water. I got two big breads. I normally freeze one and a half bread, so they won’t go gry before I got a chance to eat it. My freezer was almost full; I only could place one bread in there. Half a bread I kept in a bag and the second half I gave to my sister.

It is time go make some dinner. Nom, nom, nom.

It’s a rainy day and I’m baking bread

It’s been a grey day today. It’s been raining most of the day; not heavy, but drizzling. There hasn’t been any weather to do things outside; not to be outside at all actually.

This morning, when I woke up, I realised I had to find some indoor activities to occupied myself. I decided it would be nice to bake something. I thought about chocolate cake and bread. To bake any of those two things, I needed to go to the grocery store. In fact, I needed to go to the grocery store just to get breakfast! There was nothing I could eat!

Since I don’t have my own car, here at  my parents house, I went up to my uncle to borrow his. We had an agreement; I could borrow his car whenever I wanted while I was home. So I took his car to the grocery store and bought a lot of food. And after I’d finished the shopping, eaten dinner, watched some TV, returned the car and had a nice chat with my uncle, I started on baking the bread.

Cheese slicer. Norwegian invention! Handy little thing.

Yummy bread with goat cheese. This is a norwegian speciality. Oh so yummy! I love when it melts on the bread.

 Nom, nom, nom, nom!

The rest of the day passed with my watching (some crap) on TV, watch my fave Norwegian football team (LSK) lose against my second fave Norwegian football team (Hønefoss BK) 2-3, texting football messages with my dad who is in Nice on vacation, talk to Chantie about heartbreaks and finally deciding when she’s coming over to see me. Flight tickets were booked this evening. YEAH BABY! I’ve also watch an ep. of NCIS LA and cried when an agent died in today’s episode.

Right now I’m listening to Scouting for Girls on Spotify. Their album Everybody Wants To Be On TV is lovely. Don’t remember how I came across it; I think I read something about them in the newspaper actually. I decided to check them out and I’m happy I did!

Now it’s time to go to bed. Lets hope tomorrow will be rainfree. Or else I might have to bake again…

Baked bread

The only exiting thing I can tell from today, is that I baked bread. I got the urge to bake some bread yesterday, but I was too lasy to start. So I postponded it to today.

I started right after I came home. I knew that I probably would lose interest if I waited. I know myself that good, you know.

I wasn’t all fancey and did it from scratch. I’ve never done that before actually.  I should try it dough. I bought this package where you only add water and yeast. Easy peasy.

First I knead the dough in my mixer for quite a long time, about 7 minutes I guess. Then I put it in a bowl, filled the sink with hot water and put the bowl on a great over the sink. I covered the bowl with a kitchen towle and let it stay there to rise for half an hour.

After the 30 mins were over I knead the dough some again and put it two tins which were smeared in with oil. I put them back over the sink to let them rise again – this time until it was over the top of the tin.

Then, in the oven for about 40 minutes.

I had to taste the bread as soon as they were out of the oven. Heaven! The butter melted on the bread and the cheese almost melted too. I used brown cheese (goat cheese) which is so yummy on warm bread. I ate four slices of bread in total. Mmmmm!

That is the only thing I’ve made today. I have a lot of creativity inside me and wants to get out, but I have no idea in which direction to aim. I want to take pictures, but the weather isn’t the best these days. It’s so foggy / cloudy and that is not ideal weather to go shooting. No good light.

It’s been so bad I haven’t even bothered to bring my camera. Tomorrow I think I’m gonna bring it anyway. I might get lucky with the weather and I hate not to have the camera around when there’s something to shoot.
