Sunny Oslo

Janauar 2017 has been one big foggy month. I don’t think I’ve experienced so much fog in such a short span of time ever before. Luckily I had no plans when the sun graced Oslo with a visit two weeks ago. It was sunday and went early home to Oslo from my parents place at Lierfoss, after having attended a friends 40th birthday that weekend. For the record, the birthday party was a real blast–I had such a great time and danced a lot to old classics, ate a VERY GOOD chocolate cake and wasn’t in bed before 4 AM in the morning.

Concert photos

20160806_211401

Taking photos at concerts is a bit double for me. Should I do it or should I put all my focus into enjoying the concert and put the phone away? I love taking photos at concerts, because you often get that smoke and cool light, like the photo above. But at the same time, when you’re at the concert your primary thing should be to listen to the music. I’m sure musician wants you to stay focused at what they do on stage than have your face planted at the phone screen to get a good shoot.

Music I discovered and loved in 2016

In addition to photographing, there is two things I really love; writing and music. Now I’m going to combine all those things and write about the music I discovered and loved in 2016 – both new and old music. When the year ends and a new starts, you see all these lists with ‘the best’ music from that year. Can you really define the best music from 2016? What is best for someone, might be the worst for someone else. These list of ‘best of’ is just one persons taste in music. I read a good article about that, but when you don’t bookmark stuff, it just vanish into the air. So no link from me.

New, old friend and a phototrip

img_4483bwsmall

I met my new, old friend Ian in mid November. He put it so well when he said we were new, old friends. The thing is, we’ve known each other for ten years, but never met until now. Ian, who is from Minnesota, US, studied 6 months in Oslo ten years ago and he became friends with an ex-colleague Lars.

Sunny side up – Oslo

img_5717small

November usually is dark and this november hasn’t been different. After the snow we had weeks ago, melted because it got a little warmer, it got even darker. The sun hasn’t been very present lately and when it’s dark when you go to work in the morning and when you leave, there isn’t much time to photograph.

I always fall for fall

20161027_160640-dip

It’ a bit strange that I’ve been so hooked on black and white photography l lately. I’m quite a color person, weather it comes to dressing myself (I own pants that are yellow, red, orange, blue, green, purple and black and I have 6 different colored Converse shoes) or interiour (my kitchen cabinets are RED, I have a yellow wall in the livingroom, a blue wall in my bedroom and the inside of my front door is bright green).

Out in the streets pt II

20161022_151233-dip

My plans got canceled on saturday (I was going shopping with a friend and then wine at my place later with her sleeping over), so suddenly I had nothing to do. What better thing to do than to go on a impromptu photo trip.

Out in the streets

20161019_171108-dipIn my last post I talked about street photography and how I wanted to do more of that. This time I actually followed through and did what I said I would. There are evidence of me not doing that lots of times in the past. Positive feedback from followers here and on my Insta account made it easier to follow up. I can admit it, it’s no secret, I’m a sucker for positive feedback.

Street photography

20161003_171013-dip

I spend a lot of time on Instagram, both posting photos myself and watching / liking other photos. Scrolling through my feed is a perfect thing to do on the bus, on my way to work or back home. Instagram is one big pool of inspiration, following the right people. For me who loves photography, it’s a perfect place to be.
