Why I love the countryside…

After a tiring week at the office, last weekend came not one minute too early. Friday afternoon I visited my sister and my  new nephew at the hospital. Ahh. What great time. My sister was doing fine and my tiny little nephew was so utterly cute and soft! The rest of the friday was used to unwind and just relax on the couch.

On saturday afternoon I went to visit my parents at the countryside. I had no plans laid, other than picking some berries and bake bread. I needed a totally relaxing weekend and that’s what I got. There was a bbq, some berry picking, bread baking, cuddling with my cat and eating icecream among other things. While being at Lierfoss, I took some photos of course. Here are a few of them.

An apple from our very old apple tree. Bathing in the sun and the bokeh.

Grass. Cut / uncut. I love to walk barefoot in the grass during the summer. One of the best summer feelings there is.

A handful of currants. I’m not fan of those berries, but my dad is. So I picked a box full of currants to him. We have five bushes with currants at home.

The box is full of currants.

Raspberries. Yum! I went with mum to pick raspberries. Close to one of my uncles fields, at the end of a corner, there is a lot of bushes with raspberries. They were long time ago, several decades, moved. But they came back. So mum and I went to  pick berries there on saturday. Mum had been there before, so it wasn’t that much left. But we got a tray full of berries.

Oh so yummy berries. Mum picked the most. I was also occupied with taking photos. As always.

Mum doesn’t like her picture taken. So instead of portrait of her, I took one of her in action.

Here I got one of her from behind; in the sunlight. I wish I had her thick hair. It’s lovely.

Me walking home with the berries in a bucket.

Ahhh. There you got some glimps of what lovely things the countryside can offer. It’s not bad, is it?
